We would highly recommend this dogsit to any nature lover looking for a slow pace and hassle-free stay away from the crowds.

Saffie the labrador mix is all in one: loving, sensitive, energetic and independant. She is so well mannered, she responds to commands, even when venturing in the fields she'll always come back to you. We took her, or should we say Saffie took us!, twice a day for a walk around her "Domaine". It was everytime breathtaking and exciting, the magnificent views to the Pyrenees, the encounter with deers, the sighting of birds and squirrels in the woods or coypu in the lake, to name a few...

Amanda and Martin are exceptionally hospitable, generous and helpful. The cohabitation when they are in situ is very easy due to clear communication and respect of privacy.

The cottage is really very spacious and full of light. You will find everything you need to live comfortable on a daily basis. Wifi is strong and you could organize yourself to "work from home".

If you are into gardening you'll be in paradise. The gardens are easy to maintain, few flower beds, mainly grassed areas and trees. Tools and essential gardening supplies are all provided.

A car is essential to go shopping and sightseeing. You wouldn't be able to take full advantage of your free time to discover the magnificent region of the Gers without one.

Das Haus von Amanda & Martin ⬇️ ...

Die Liegenschaft liegt im landwirtschaftlichen Gebiet in der Nähe von Castelnavet, ungefähr eine Autostunde von Toulouse. An einem klaren Tag kann man die etwa 40 km entfernten Pyrenäen sehen.


Der Hund namens "Saffie" ⬇️ ...
"Saffie" ist ein ausserordentlich freundlicher Hund und er liebt sein Zuhause. Zu diesem gehören mehrere landwirschaftlich genutzte Felder und ein kleiner See, in welchem er sich bei jeder Gelegenheit ein Bad genehmigt. Er geniesst es, ruhig dazusitzen und seine Umgebung lange anzuschauen.

Abtei Notre-Dame de l'Espérance in Tarasteix



Abtei Notre-Dame de l'Espérance in Tarasteix ⬇️ ...

Rein zufällig führte uns der Weg zur Abtei Notre-Dame de l'Espérance in Tarasteix, wo uns der alte Pfarrer, Père Jean-Claude Mercier, empfang und uns durch sein "Reich" führte. Er besitzt diese Kirche und hat die Gebäude selbst restauriert ... eine etwas mysteriöse Geschichte. Wir erhielten eine Führung durch viele Räume, er spielte auf der Orgel und sang dazu. Zum Abschluss spazierten wir durch den Garten und der Pfarrer pflückte dabei einen schönen Blumenstraus für uns.

Lourdes ⬇️ ..,

Wir haben Lourdes besucht, nicht weil wir sehr religiös sind, sondern weil der Name dieses Städtchen jeder kennt und von unserem aktuellen Standort gleich "um die Ecke" liegt.  Nun wissen wir wie es ist, wenn jemand von diesem sehr bekannten Ort spricht.
