We had the absolute pleasure of house and pet sitting near Bretenoux for 2 weeks, caring for the most charming animal crew: 2 affectionate pigs, 18 lively hens (+1 proud rooster!), 1 curious turkey, and 4 delightful but shy cats. Every day was fantastic, whether it was watching the hilarous pigs, collecting fresh eggs and beeing followed by the hens like a feathery entourage or just being greeted by the cats’ purrs at the door.

The property itself is idyllic. We stayed in the spotlessly clean gîte with all the comforts needed for a great stay. Kerrie and Andy provided clear instructions. The animal chores are light and leave plenty of free time for trips to nearby villages, markets, or hikes. We’d return in a heartbeat!
